Does anyone meet issue with usb hub 3.0 ethernet?
I currently using this kind of usb hub which has ethernet port

http://www.amazon.com/Unibody-Alumi...d=1432420989&sr=8-2&keywords=ethernet+hub+usb

I lost connection randomly, when i am trying to copy huge files (more than 1 TB) from Macbook to NAS, it automatically failed and connection eventually dropped

My guess its bus powered usb hub that doesnt seem to have enough power to drive usb and ethernet port all together?
I am looking for an alternative, i need severals usb ports, actually 2/3 usb ports more would be enough for my use
I would initially plan to buy official Apple thunderbolt to Ethernet
The main issue: i am using external screen monitor through thunderbolt port
Thunderbolt dock? too expensive
Kanex simpledock? sightly less expensive
self powered usb hub + separated ethernet usb adapter?
Thanks

You will always have an issue or two trying the USB bandaid approach for any kind of performance application. How much is your time worth? A TB dock is the best way to solve your issues. You won't find anything else thats as robust.

Which TB dock?
Does anyone know if it exist only TB dock with hdmi/ethernet, i dont need anything else
