I'm looking to buy a NAS to share files across the network at work.
I've used Lacie Network Space before, but we had huge problems with security. Basically, every Windows 7 computer we had in the building (including all those in the Community IT Suite) were able to fully access every file on the Lacie NS, unless we turned off Network Discovery in Windows 7, which caused issues elsewhere.

I could really do with something more secure that will only be accessible to those who need to use it. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

(Office network is a mix of Mac's, Windows 7 and XP users.)

Synology's NAS products have user accounts with fully customisable permission levels. Windows 7 will ask for a username/password to connect, and within that you can lock down individual folders.
