BBC.US film studio New Line is planning a follow-up to the 1983 comedy National Lampoon's Vacation, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The film will focus on Rusty Griswold, the son of Chevy Chase's character and now a father in his own right, planning his own family road trip.
Chase could return as grandfather Clark, though no deal is yet in place.
Shanghai Knights and Wedding Crashers director David Dobkin is reportedly attached to the project.
In the original film, Chase played a parent intent on taking his family across country to the Walley World amusement park.
