For some odd reason my native apps are starting to go crazy on me. First it was my weather app. I would tap on it when it tries to come up it will just quickly send me back to the home screen and the same thing is happening to my calculator app. To me it seems as if it's spreading. Help is much appreciated. If it helps I've done a ilexrat restore.

What was the last thing you did on the device before the problem started happening?

ilexrat and semi-restore don't fix system files

Did you install anything from Cydia right after ilexrat restore?

@Threadstarter

Do you have any apps installed that you obtained other than "legally" ?

Such apps are well known for causing these types of issues.

All tweaks are paid for

Before all I can remember is adding tweaks and removing tweaks didn't try to restore until after I found out

Start removing tweaks one by one and testing till u find the one causing this.

I did a restore and before I reinstalled any tweaks I checked and it was still there. I would just like to find out what is making this happen before it spreads like a virus.

How did you do a restore on a JB device and stayed JB?

So you have no hacks installed at all now?

I used ilex rat to do a full wipe. Once I rebooted I seen that the problem was still there so I did the process 4 times and it was still happening so after that I gave up and started to put my tweaks back on manually.

What ownership and permissions?

I believe native apps should be

Owner: root
Group: admin
User: read, write, execute
Group: read, write, execute
World: read, execute

And that's what it says

There's not much you can do at this point, either full restore to 7.1 and lose the JB or look for 3rd party alternatives similar to native apps functionality.

I was hoping it didn't come down to that. We'll I'm not losing my jb for those if it spreads then I will

Native apps not working

Nothing like that comes up and I never had that installed (yes I checked).

Did you give Semi-Restore a shot? I recall iLEX rat lets you keep apps and their data and only re-initialize Cydia, make a full back up and fire up Semi-Restore, do not restore from back up before trying to launch any of the stock apps. Although both iLEX and Semi-Restore at first glance do the same thing but there are leftovers that are left behind by iLEX that Semi-restore takes care of.

Your device is yours to use and only you can decide how to use it but i can't stress enough how notorious appsync is when it comes to causing that particular issue, if you ever installed it try to get it from a different repo because removing it doesn't always fix the problem especially with tons of mods put online on multiple repos, remove them all and search for the most stable version out there since the damage already done i guess you could just install a working version at least.

tried to do the semi-restore and I still have the same problem. I will just have to wait and see if there is going to be a jb for 7.1 (no way I'm losing jb) in order to see what the problem really was. Thanks for all of the help though

What happens when you install any new JB tweak? (Preferably one that doesn't register itself as a dylib; for example, my tweaks in my private repo, winmobiletech.com/cy, are all like this. Get for example UICache cleaner, it's the simplest. Are they executed?

If they are, the problem might be very simple: /var/stash/Applications has a random sufflix like "Applications.f66Uir". This isn't evident if you just follow the "Applications" symlink in, say, iExplorer (or access it from your binary app like I do in my Audio/Call Recorder Configurer - see the sources) but still may cause the problem. For example, the symlink may point to the old directory and this is why the executables themselves aren't found. (Their icons are still found because they may be cached by SpringBoard.)
