I am preparing to extend internal SSD (512Gb) to an external SSD (2 TB). First I plan to duplicate (copy and paste) the "Pictures" folder (largest folder in int drive) to the external SSD. I only want to store my saved folders/files in the Pictures in the ext drive, not the native Apple folders in the Pictures. So after the duplication of Pictures on ext drive, I plan to 1) change the name of Pictures in ext drive to Pictures2, 2) delete all native folders in Pictures2, and 3) delete all my saved folders/files in Pictures. After that, Pictures and Pictures2 are no longer mirrored. From then on, I will save and work any of my own image files (photo, picture, etc.) in Pictures2, not in Pictures. If this way of extension is legit and effective, I need to know which are the Apple native folders (e.g., Photo Booth) in Pictures, and also in Movies (e.g., iMovie Events) and Music (e.g., iTunes). Does anyone have the lists, or know where to find them? Appreciate all the help.
