There is a readme included, but I will repeat the information here anyway. Minecraft is a Java app, it will run on ANY platform with the required Java VM (1.5+ in this case).

The launcher however is native and will only run on Intel Macs. I have authored a custom launcher using tools from Xcode. Check the package contents for yourself, all there is is a launcher, jar file and an icon. The jar file should have a checksum which matches the official Minecraft jar because it is untouched.

On another note, would you mind refraining from derailing the thread next time please? Thanks :)

It's just a launcher I'm afraid, all of the resources are stored in Application Support. Hopefully if I get a bit of spare time then I'll put together a release with a set of fixes and optimizations.

How is this any different than the official PowerPC client from mojang?

Mojang stopped providing PPC packages a while back. I guess there are older official PPC-compatible versions floating around out there you could find, but for convenience, this comes out on the first page of Google for 'minecraft powerpc' - thus providing the user with the latest stable client (though auto-update should obviously work fine on older clients).

The launcher doesn't only run on Intel macs, the current one does but the official one from a few years ago works 100% and I use it... But your one looks cool too... :) I might use it instead!

Hmm, I didn't realize so many people had ahold of the old official one - I apologize if this is slightly redundant.

Better get my act together and release the optimizations and fixes!

TBH I don't really see how a minecraft launcher could be that important, all it does is open minecraft... HOWEVER WHAT ABOUT A TEKKIT LAUNCHER PLEASE!!!!!

Does your launcher resolve the sound issues and minecart crashing on PowerPC?
No you have to do the fix that you've seen, right?
