I am not sure if someone already posted about this but I just got my Retina display MBP and I was annoyed that the display options do not allow you to run at native resolution, the highest option 1680x1050, which is lower than 1080p. I did find a tool that allows you to change to any resolution though, from the toolbar, so it is easy to switch. I have been running my MBP at its native resolution since. I like everything super small so that I can fit everything on the screen.

"The first option is the free Retina DisplayMenu (direct download link) from Reddit user "phoenixdev." This utility adds a list of Apple's supported resolutions as well as additional ones to the menu bar and makes switching between them easy."
