Why my MacBook retina 13" late 2013 show 2880 x 1800 as a native resolution in the menu "About this Mac"? I've noticed that in the specification Apple's webpage this model should be 2560 x 1600. So I don't understand... Could this be a problem?

Thanks!

i'm having a similar issue but it's with a 3rd party program

a game i play thinks my 13" is 2880x1800 and tries to run in this resolution which looks fine but I'm worried it might be wasting CPU/GPU/battery trying to run the extra million pixels

i thought it was just the program but it might be linked?

In the window "About this Mac", what resolution says that you've got?
In my case:
(sorry about the spanish)

This question seems to come up time and time again. It's because you're running it in scaled 1440x900 resolution. Try using different resolutions and you'll notice that number adjusts accordingly.

im in "best for retina" mode ;)

well I'm not now as i had to enable 1440x900 to mitigate the issue but the issue happens in 1280x800 mode

Thanks! You're right, that's because I was using the 1440 x 900 resolution.
