Hi,

I am fairly new to driving and tired of losing my way around unfamiliar cities. I've been resorting to seeking out the nearest McDonald's and stopping to use their WiFi, which is becoming a pain in the arse. I've played around with a few dedicated GPS devices in BestBuy, but every single one of them (top of the line included) feels slow and their touchscreens are very finicky. So, I've been looking into purchasing an add-on GPS accessory for my iPod and getting one of the apps for my navigation device.

Since I have an iPod touch (no data) I'm looking for one that downloads the map to my device. I have at least 50GB of free space left so the size of the download is no concern.

Location: USA, therefore I need US maps

Things I would like to have:
- Pinch to zoom
- Voice turn-by-turn
- Displays street names
- The 3-Dish display--I'm pretty sure most have this feature
- Fairly responsive
- Maybe a decent POI
- updated maps
- Fairly accurate
- Not painfully slow, especially when panning across/browsing the map
- Works with a GPS receiver listed below

I have been looking at 3 in particular:
- Copilot Live Premium $14.99 on sale atm
- Navigon USA $49.99
- TomTom USA $49.99

Has anyone tried any of these and have any input on which is best? I have year+ old iTunes giftcards (these work on apps, right?) which I still haven't used and would cover the cost of either of these, so price isn't really a concern.

I'm still undecided on which GPS accessory to purchase, but here are the few I've been eying since they don't require a jailbreak:
- Dual Electronics XGPS150 Universal Bluetooth GPS Receiver
- TomTom Car Kit for iPod touch
- XGPS 251
- Bad Elf GPS Receiver

If anyone has any input on these GPS receivers (or others), in addition to the app, let me know please.

Thanks!
