There are plenty of these cool tricks. Post yours.

- Shift Click to make animations go slow (For Expose hit Shift+F9)
- Command+Option+Control+8 make the colors go negative

Yeah, I love that one. I do that instead of having a "dark" Shapeshifter theme.

I have nothing. Uh, type 'cal -y | open -f' in the terminal and get a yearly calender opened up for you in TextEdit?

Rain clouds in the weather widget look particularly cool in this mode.

I use this late at night when my eyes start to hurt from all the brightness of my display...or if I'm in the same room as my wife and she's trying to sleep.

You want something REALLY cool? The same trick work with the minimize to dock button (shift-click it for a slow minimize to dock). So:

Open a window. Any window. Open Terminal, but situate the Terminal window so the minimize button on the first window is still visible. Type "killall Dock" into the terminal, but don't hit enter yet. Shift-click the minimize button (still keeping the terminal window as the front window), and *BEFORE* the window being minimized touches the dock hit enter. Witness the coolness.

Turn on Speech in system prefs and you can ask your computer what time it is and get it to tell you a knock-knock joke.

This worked for me the first 3 times I tried it (when I first got it), but now it won't tell me any more jokes. Where am I supposed to get my fill now? :(

How do you make it choose a particular year? This would be so handy for when i make a new yearly calendar at work..

Yeah shift minimize is pretty amazing. They're not gonna even have that in Vista.

Wow, that starwars thing is awesome. How long is it?!?

That was pretty cool, but I had to quit the app to get the window to go away. Is there another way to get it back to normal?

I just click cmd-W and it goes or you can hit minimise and it finishes minimising. Works on mine anyway

Just minimize it to the dock and then expand it.

**EDIT**
Sorry. Should read the whole thread first. SMRT

Windows is sooooo far behind...how could you possibly have a decent OS without slow-mo minimize?

hehe...

I especially like to do this across multiple screens...it feels nice.
