Necessary to unauthorize iTunes before formatting and installing Snow Leopard?

Just want to make sure. Is it necessary to unauthorize and re-authorize or is it hardware based?

I don't know for sure but... it doesn't take that long to unauthorize and then reauthorize. Might as well in case something goes awry with the install anyway.

It's hardware based but it won't hurt to deauthorise.
