I bought a usb 2.0-to-parallel cable on the computers store guy's advice. It came with a tiny driver disk, but claims to only work with Windows OS, and it's claims seem to be true as I can't activate even the read me file on the disk. It opens as gibberish. The computer recognizes the Canon BJC 250 but it stops the print every time I try. Anyone know where I can download a free driver that will make this configuration work? The CSG said the this is the only cable that is available for my 'ancient' printer that will connect it to my G4, so it is my only hope...

Make old printers new again!

You are the best! This link led me to Gutenprint drivers to download. My ancient, and beloved, printer now works with my G4. Canon online help couldn't even figure this out (or they wanted me to buy a new printer) but MacRumors comes through again. Thanks!
