need a free alternative to ipartition

Just use the built-in partitioner in Disk Utility.

what are you trying to do? disk utility does all the basic stuff.

I have two partitions on one drive, and have recently shrunk the #2 partition, but still can't increase partition #1 with the built-in Disk Utility due to the location of #2.

I would use iPartition but it doesn't work on Lion right now. Does anyone have other suggestions?
