Hi everyone,

yesterday I was trying to create a simple automation: my idea is that at the time my Garmin Forerunner 235 connects to my iPhone 13 mini by bluetooth the automation automatically enables Fitness mode (I know I know, doing It manually take just a couple on seconds, but I would like it to happen automatically). By the way when I go to Shortcut -> Automation -> + -> Bluetooth I can't choose my Garmin, it isn't listed. Is there a way to make it appears?

Thank you

Think you're out of luck. It's not pairing directly with the iPhone but via the app.

IMPORTANT: You must pair the watch through the Garmin Connect app and not directly through the phone's Bluetooth settings.

I have a blood pressure monitor that does something similar. Will sync through their app but does not show up in Bluetooth devices list that iPhone/Shortcuts sees.

Looks like there is a Do Not Disturb widget on the watch, but guessing that is DnD for the watch and not iPhone. If was iPhone, could MAYBE capture that toggling on via an Automation.

So, even once the Garmin is paired and correctly appears in the list of the devices in the bluetooth settings that is't enough... that's said

Is this when paired or not? If paired, then does look like out of luck. If unpaired, something to try:

Pair the watch. Go into Shortcuts and try to create a placeholder Automation for "when BT connects" and see if the Garmin is showing up. If so, select it and have the Automation do a simple Notification. Unpair and re-pair to see if the Garmin is somewhat "persistent" (has the same key between pairings). If get the Notification, can replace that Action with the "Set Focus" Action.

Unfortunately the Garmin was already paired. I also tried to unpair and then repair it but it doesn't appear in the shortcut menu anyway. I will do it manually! Thank you anyway
