I will be studding abroad in Japan come this October, so I will be needing a laptop (my first). My question is should I buy a Macbook now, or wait until the new Macbook is released. I definitely want to get it before I leave in late September, and would also hate to buy it only to have the newer version be released a month later. What should I do?

unless there's a case redesign you're not going to find too much of a difference between the current Macbook and the next one.
i would wait until the last second to get the est macbook, and i would suggest you also get lojack for the macbook it about a $200 addon and is good if you are going aboard

I'd get one whenever you feel like you'll need it the most - whether it be in Japan, a few weeks before Japan, or now. I waited until I graduated high school to order my MacBook for college. I ordered it at the beginning of June because I wanted it for the summer. It just happened to be around the same time the MacBooks saw another update.
Do you need a computer to be a stud? I guess times have changed!!!

I like Japan. Should you get tired and need a backup, I'm generously offering my services. I realize it's a dirty job but someone's got to do it. High swimmer count, too
