need a microphone for college

I need to get a good microphone for college, and it needs to either hook into my MBP, or be loadedable onto a computer. The internal mic is just too weak to hear my professors voice. Is there any other type of mic that has the ability to pick up sound that is about 20 ft away and just a normal college professor talking?

are you sure the internal mic is turned all the way up in system prefs?
