I have the grandfathered ATT plan unlimited but without texts and I need to find a new plan - would also like to leave ATT as their coverage at my house is only 2 bars. My usage needs are minimum, but reading through all the different plans I'm lost. My phone now is the 6s+ perfect condition so I don't "need" to upgrade but seeing that I need to change plans I would like to.

All the plans I see claim to offer a phone (with monthly payments totaling more than just buying from Apple) so I don't see the benefit or what am I missing?

I realize this question isn't directed specifically at an iPhone, but am hoping someone can share some insights with any deals going on or things to look for when changing a plan/service.

If your phone is unlocked, you can take it to any of the big four carriers or services that use one of them. Depending on if Sprint is good in your area, you may want to check out the Kickstart plan - $25/month for unlimited (there's a few restrictions) if you bring your own device or buy a new one at full price.

Visible is also a new service - $40 for unlimited data on Verizon (Verizon owns them), but has a throttle at 5Mbps. It's still an up-and-coming service, but shows promise (kind of like being Verizon's equivalent to AT&T's Cricket service - different than the mainline brand, but pretty decent on a budget).

I was looking to switch to T-mobile from AT&T but just noticed they are no longer offering the buy 2 lines get the 3rd line free. Anyone have any insight as to when / if they will bring that back? (I know they've offered that deal in the past and have brought it back a few times)

EDIT: Weird, I just called them and rep said the deal was still good. I was on Chrome and the price came up as 4 lines / $200. Switched to Safari and the price came up 4 lines / $170 (Buy 2 lines, get 3rd free). Anyone else notice this?

That's pretty common for information to be shown differently depending on what browser you are using, as websites detect your location, cookies. It's like that with hotel/airline fares too.
