My dad inherited a powerbook recently and it does have built-in wifi, but he doesn't seem to get the best signal in various places around the house, while every other more recent wifi-enabled device gets a great signal. It's my understanding that this is a common problem with older powerbooks. I'm researching options to improve the wifi.

I know there are wifi USB devices and also wifi cards that slide into the port on the side of the laptop, but I was wondering if anybody had any particular recommendations on one type over the other and any particular brand. I'm looking to get something as soon as possible to fix the issue.
