Hi guys,

I am flying to the US from the UK and I want to get a new macbook pro before I start university. I just wanted to know if I buy one in store would it be possible for me to get the guys in store to replace the US keyboard with a UK one. If possible would I need to arrange this before hand or while I am there. I am going to Chicago, so I suppose I would be going to Oakbrook.

Thanks

Why bother changing the keyboard? Just change the keyboard layout from the Input menu. The US and UK Mac keyboards aren't very different.

I'd bet you'd have to contact Apple to get a replacement keyboard, and if its for a MBP it'll probably be stupidly expensive due to the backlight.

Probably true. Also note that the enter key is a different shape on the UK keyboards. Never understood why.

But of course, just change the keyboard layout in the input menu.

The Uk keyboard has the proper size Enter, and some functions are in different places.

Apple does not replace keyboard for you. You will need to do it yourself or contact a third-party retailer.

Or the US has the proper keyboard. :p
