Need recommendations on a good enclosure for an SSD.

I want it to be SATA III USB 3.0 and have power supplied via the single USB cable, not a Y-cable or an external power source.

Any Suggestions?

check out newegg.com and view reviews. honestly, an enclosure is just an enclosure. pick one that fits your needs. really not much to it to be honest. :D

Well i have been looking, and there seems to be slim pickings... I see some that are USB 3.0 but only SATA II, USB 3.0 and SATA III but with a Y-cable, etc...I'll try Newegg

fyi i wasn't making light of your question. based on personal experience what matters is whats inside the enclosure. keep in mind usb 3.0 enclosures are not as abundant as one would like in terms of diversity as usb 2.0. good luck on finding what you need. ;)

No Worries!

The Y-Cable wouldnt be an issue, but on the rMBP the USB ports are on opposite sides of each other :)

Just buy a low capacity Seagate GoFlex USB 3 external drive, prise it open with a spatula (there are no screws) and swap the hdd for your ssd. Job done. :)
