need advice about used PBook

Hi, I'm newbie here, looking to replace a laptop lost in recent fire. Local dealer has used PB 17" 2.33 w 2gig RAM + 120 HD for $950. Is that a good price? Or any other suggestions in that $ range?

There was never a 2.33 PB so I'd be extremely wary of anyone advertising one. For that price, score refurb unibody MB if you're not concerned about screen size or an older, non-unibody MBP if you are. Intel > PPC.

and remember snow leopard only works on Intel macs.

Correction: need advice about used 'PBook' = MBP, not PB...

Correction: my mistake, = MBP, not a PB. So does that make more sense for the price being asked?
