Longtime reader who is making the jump to a MacBook...just sold my Dell XPS M1730...own an iPad 2, iPhone 4. I would like a desktop replacement, but I am not a heavy user. I just would like something that would last 3-5 years and not have to worry about limitations. My two questions are what about a MacBook Air? The other question is what about this overheating issue...is it blown out of proportion? Money is not an issue...just want a solid investment...looking at 2.3ghz i7 8gb RAM 256 SSD Hi-Res Glossy screen...thx in advance!

Very much so. Don't worry about it. It's not a problem. It's only a perceived problem.

But, but, but.... When i use my computer in a hot room and stream video while i'm using itunes, the bottom of my computer gets hot. I'm just waiting till it spontaneously combusts and kills me. I'm legitimately scared for my life...

Yes, but your case is different. You're evil and your Mac knows it's supposed to destroy you! :D
