Hey guys I've just ditched my vaio and am considering buying a macbook 13" which comes with 2Ghz and 1Gb ram standard. I am an elec engg student so i basically require it for DSP, VHDL ,lots of simulation and many other things, I will also be dual booting it with a windows OS.

I need some advice on whether I should stick to 1Gb ram or whether a 2Gb ram would be a more better option for my needs. I'm getting the upgrade for $250AUD.

I agree with the above poster, but I don't think it's an absolute necessity. However, if you're going to be booting Vista instead of XP, you will probably need 2 Gigabytes of RAM.

you'll definitely feel the speed difference between 1gb and 2gb. i certainly did, so i'd recommend opting for the 2gb upgrade.
