I've been following the whole iPhone frenzy here for a while now (since the announcement) and I haven't been able to upgrade yet. On the other hand an idea has occurred to me, I want to use my mothers upgrade eligibility on her family account to purchase the iphone then go to an AT&T store myself and register the phone under my family account.
Does this sound do-able and will I have to accept the data plan when i purchase the iphone with my mother and then cancel over the phone/internet? Would AT&T charge me for the data plan if i cancel the minute i get home after the purchase?
