hello
Im planning to buy a macbook.
Im considering these 2 options.

1) 2.4ghz Macbook Black.
2) 2.0ghz Macbook Alu.

Im in dillema for choosing these two macbook. I need your opinion, pros and cons.

some points that i already found out
1)macbook black is cheaper, has firewire, it is black in color(rare), 2.4ghz.

2)macbook aluminium has good GPU, ddr3 ram.

I am a graphic designer and also a photographer. I somtimes deal with video editing and some after effects.

Lets discuss!

Realistically, both of those computers should suit your needs.

The slight difference in the processor speeds won't be noticeable for casual tasks.
For heavy lifting, the faster RAM in the alu MB may be better, especially if both units are configured with the stock 2GB RAM.

I like the aluminium over the polycarb of the Blackbook, but that's just me.

Can you trade off the loss of firewire? If that's what you're using to transfer your image and video files, then the Blackbook is your obvious choice. But, if you can get by without firewire, then the alu Macbook will last longer and hae higher resale value.

The new one would have an overall better performance, check out the refurbs as well, maybe you can afford the aluminum 2.4?

Refub Al MB's are 1099 for the 2.0 and 1399 for the 2.4Ghz.

Better to buy the AL version than the previous version because its GPU is better than the GMA graphics

thanks for the replies.

what else is the advantages for buying macbook al?

how bout the usability?

any new cool features?

Agree pretty much completely; essentially, it is a trade off between stunning looks & great design on the one hand (which means better resale value should you wish to sell subsequently), and firewire plus far better value for money on the other. The aluminium MB loos superb, it really is beautifully designed, but other than that, there is not a huge difference between them. If money is an issue, or if you need firewire, choose the black MB; otherwise, opt for the aluminium MB.

Cheers and good luck

I did some homework and
i decided to choose macbook black.

I choose firewire over good GPU.

in terms of design. i like both. i have nothing to lose.
