So I was all ready to purchase the 13 inch mbpr from bestbuy with the 10% coupon and $50 edu coupon. Saw an ad for a brand new 13 inch on CL for $900. Guy claims it was a graduation gift and he didn't want it.

My questions:
-any way I can check it was not stolen?
-any problems registering with apple for warranty?
-does apple require store receipt for warranty claims?
-any gotchas with this deal?

I am saving about $114 from the bestbuy deal.

Thanks for any input.

Oddly there was a guy local to me selling one NEVER opened for $850, i could not get to him in time, and I'm sure his phone was blowing up. He actually ran a local small computer shop and needed cash rather fast. So a lot of time you can take advantage of peoples mis fortunes on Craigslist.

I doubt its stolen, you should get a strong vibe seeing him in person to tell if it is or isn't. If he got it free as a gift, getting $900 is prob fine with him.

^^^ Exactly, if its stolen hey man thats not your problem you didn't steal it lol. I believe your Apple iTunes ID registers it for you.
