I have a late 2013 13" rMBP 2.4ghz and due to working from home I'm shopping for an external display that meets these criteria:

  • 27" size
  • Decent quality display, such as IPS
  • 2560 x 1440 (1440p) resolution or 2560x1600 resolution. Not 4K, not 1080p.
  • USB-C and Displayport connectivity
I have done some research and looked at the Dell P2720DC.

Does anyone else have any recommendations for a 27" display that is less than 4K resolution for an older Macbook Pro?

Does the older Macbook Pro power these displays at 60hz?

I have used the Dell U2719DC for just over a year now as a 2nd monitor attached to my 27" iMac. I am very happy with it and would recommend it. I also use it as a monitor for my 2016 Macbook on occasion as well.
