I have a brand new 20"imac with a 500 gb hard drive.

I have 166 gb of music which I stored in my itunes music folder.
I have 15 gb of pictures which I stored in my iphoto events folder.
I have 130 or so gb of home videos which I stored in my movies folder.

I have about 100 gb left (after software, etc.). This should last me a while but what does everyone recommend for storage as this gets tighter.

I've heard/read that it's a good idea to store the higher grade movies on an external hard drive linked to the firewire port. Which would be a good idea, but I like being able to browse them in front row and I don't think this would let me do that (if anyone knows of any way this is incorrect I'd appreciate the advice).

Also it seems like when I load movies from my folder to the imovie events folders it creates duplicates of them. So if I'm taking that stuff and editing it then it's going to be creating doubles and thus doubling the storage space needed for it.

shoot son, 166gb of music?? put it all on an external (put the itunes folder on the external). i believe front row will still work with this because it accesses the itunes folder.

Thanks. Yeah, I have a lot of music.
