Okay, I made a post the other day about gettign a new computer. My Dad's getting me the Powermac G5. But we're going to wait a day or two to buy the screen. Will it be possible to hook up my old PC's flat screen monitor to the Powermac or will I need to buy a seperate wire or something?

If it's a VGA monitor you'll need a (relatively cheap) DVI->VGA adapter to get it to work, then it will be fine.

Ok thanks. I think I'm going to go to the NH mall because the North Shore Shopping Center in Peabody has sales tax (darn).

Just so you know (I live in Andover), they're cheap enough that gas'll cost you a lot more than the 5% tax, which'll be like $1 or so....

Edit: oh, you mean on the PM (duh). Good choice to go to NH!

Yeah, well my dad's getting me the G5 and that'll save us something like $100 if we buy it in NH. But with the way gas rates are I could probably buy Apple itself with the price we'd pay on gas alone.

how is that mall, i've never been their. I've been to cambridge, south shore and chestnut hill or whatever its called.

I would recommend getting the display with the Power Mac, that way AppleCare will cover both. That is if you purchase AppleCare, which I would recommend. Will give you three years of coverage and peace of mind.

It's a good mall in my opinion. Not as nice or upscale as Chesnut Hill, but still pretty good.

Seriously, just wait til next Wednesday to see if they unveil new PMs and PBs
