Hello,

i've got a PowerBook G4 :) and it's getting kinda time to get a new one.

Should I wait for a new model of MacBook Pro, when is it expected to come out?

I would wait till after WWDC to see what happens. (in 3 weeks)

There is a small chance for them to release new models then. If you're a student, theres also a chance for you to get a free iPod with the back to school promotion.

I'm seriously considering a 17" MacBookPro over an iMac - I think post WWDC my decision will be easier to make. At least I hope so.

Makes me wonder, what could we expect with post WWDC MBP?

I am waiting til late summer/fall. By then there is sure to be at least a slight speed bump and hopefully a free iPod deal. I have never bought a Mac during the free iPod promotion. haha.

with WWDC being so close there's a tiny, tiny chance we'll see a small speed bump but to be honest, I think any announcements at WWDC will be focused on the iPhone.

There will be another speed bump this year with the MBP (i think) but we'll not see any major update until Clarksfield is released which is late 09 or early 2010.

You've got a computer that you can use so I'd wait for a major update before upgrading. You didn't express any urgent need in your post so there is no need to rush.
