Need advice: Third-party 2TB expansion card for M4 Mac Mini ($259)

Hello, MacRumors friends!

Newbie here! I've been eyeing the new M4 Mac Mini - that $599 price with 16GB RAM standard is seriously tempting.

My only hesitation is storage - 256GB just won't cut it for my video projects, but Apple's upgrade prices are killing me!!!

$800 for 2TB?! That's insane!!!

I stumbled across this third-party expansion card that claims to add 2TB for $259. Found this demo video:

The speed specs look solid and they say it uses the same NAND chips as Apple.

Has anyone tried this? Seems almost too good to be true price-wise, but the installation looks straightforward enough. Would love to hear thoughts from the community before pulling the trigger.
