I'm looking for an app that is either free or reasonably priced that I can password protect certain applications. I'm on 10.5 regular leopard.

I've heard of macfort but don't quite understands whether or not it locks the actual application itself or just the folders associated with it.

I need to put a password on iPhoto because I have adult oriented material in there. Don't ask. Thanks.

No, I already know all the workarounds. What I need as an APP to create passwords for apps.

Or if anyone knows if I can do this through terminal and the steps to do this.

I wonder if you could store your iPhoto library in a password protected DMG - then it wouldn't matter if opened iPhoto since you wouldn't have access to the library without the dmg password?
