Need app to run macro when network connects

I'm looking for an application that will automatically take action when my MBP joins the network and acquires an IP address. Specifically, I want it to refresh certain browser windows (if possible) and more importantly restart VLC streaming a particular camera I monitor. I'm sure I've seen something like this before, but can't seem to find it anywhere... and it's not a very easy one to google.

Does anyone know of such an app, or a way to do this with Applescript? (Keeping in mind I'm not very skilled with Applescript as yet.)

For anyone that might be looking for the same, I found a solution in a (free) program called Wifiscriptor http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/32253 and a bit of Applescript to detect when my IP is acquired.

So far it automatically restarts the video stream, checks for mail, and refreshes Firefox. I'm still working on making sure it has selected the right Firefox window, but not sure if I'll achieve this one.
