Need confirmation on how to properly backup/transfer data to new phone

Hi everyone, this should be a quick one.

My power button is going wonky, where it will only respond when pressed on the left side. If memory serves me correctly, these are the steps to transfer all data to the (theoretical) replacement phone w/o any issues:

1.) Remove jailbreak (I'm on 6.1.2)
2.) Backup old phone
3.) Plug in new phone
4.) Restore all data to the new phone

I assume iTunes will make me update the iPhone to the latest version, which I'm okay with at this rate.
