hey guys, I'm not a Verizon customer and I don't know how it works but if anyone is, can you explain to me how this works.

So basically, I want to purchase a Verizon iPhone 7 Plus Product Red model at Verizon because Apple has discontinued it.

I plan to pay full retail price for it but obviously I would need to sign up a contract with Verizon or know someone with a current line on Verizon so they can associate the new phone to that line.

2 questions I have:

1. Can I go to a Verizon corporate store, sign up a contract with Verizon to get my phone at full-price, then call customer service to cancel the contract right away without any termination fees?

2. Will this Verizon phone purchased at full-price be unlocked? I know when you purchase a Verizon version at the Apple Store for full-price, it is unlocked but not sure if it's the same at a Verizon store.

For question 1, I was told by an online rep that you can make purchase the phone retail price online and choose a plan, then call customer rep to cancel the plan once you receive the phone without any termination fee, but the rep was not sure if this applies to in store also?

But then again, I'm not sure if what the rep is saying is true since I see Verizon charges $350 for early termination.

Thank you guys!

If you pay full price, there wouldn't be early termination. You would need to pay $30 activation and a month service. Verizon doesn't prorate for a day.

I would look at getting a pre-paid plan if you absolutely need to buy service to get the phone. I would think you can just walk in, pay full price and walk out without signing up for any service. Try and tell them you have a prepaid SIM card kit in the mail and just need the phone.
