apologies for the thickness of my question!

I need to uninstall my ISP software from my ibook (keeps crashing have just replaced the hard drive so im figuring that as i have only installed the ISP software then that must be the cause fingers crossed!)

anyway i have dragged the file from applications to the trash can yet i still have access to the internet??? why???

any help or advice will be greatly appreciated and again i apologise for being thick cos im sure it is all pretty simple

Cheers

99.999999% of the time, ISP software is completely useless. If you are on any broadband connection, the modem does everything you need to connect to the internet, then the modem sends out an ethernet or wi-fi signal that you use.

On dial-up it is doubbly useless, since the computer is communicating directly with a server, the only exception is AOL.

Any software you install is usually only useful to setup the modem, after that, it is no longer needed.

Is your computer plugged into/wirelessly connected to a modem/router?
