So my fiance and I are celebrating five years of being together in a couple weeks, and I am going to buy her an ipod touch. I would like to enlist the great users of MacRumors to help me think up some good ideas for the engraving. Maybe along the lines of "its only the beginning" or some other interesting ideas. Quotes are welcome also.

This is just me but i don't think you should put something like that on an iPod, leave those romantics for when you're together. Instead, think about a joke or funny word or anything else that cracks her up that's just been between the both of you from your early days together. That way whenever she reads it she'll smile, or whenever one of her friends doesn't get it and asks her about it, she'll remember how special and unique her relationship with you is. If i don't make sense let me know..

Well you see when I proposed, which was a while ago, I put earbuds on her playing our song and gave her an ipod mini. Like I said it was a while ago. Anyway she turned it over and it said will you marry me. Obviously, she said yes. Later she bought a shuffle for my birthday and on the back it said Yes!, and thus it became a tradition between us. So please don't tell me what I should and should not put on the back of an iPod I was simply asking for a suggestion for something good to say commemorating five years.

Dude, chillax, it was only a suggestion, not an insult, no need to stress it. I obviously didn't know that part of the story (i've never heard of a proposal with an iPod before) and still think that what i said makes more sense. Its a suggestion, don't like it then don't take it, but i have to admit asking others for something you want to say to your fiance/wife is pretty sad.
Good Luck..

Wow, ok if you aren't going to offer any advice leave. I was asking for suggestions and all you do is insult me. I don't appreciate it. I mean how am I supposed to chillax and not take what you say as an insult when you come right back and tell me what I am asking is pretty sad.

Since it's an iPod touch, how about something like ...

"because you're the one that touches my soul"

how about "five long years ago iPods were as fat as you have become and the battery life on this lasts as long as I do"

I kid I kid.

I like the apple of my eye one

LMAO! :p

If you are engraving something for your special someone, you shouldnt just go on the internet and ask strangers what to put, it should be personal, from your heart! (Sorry for being cheesy, but still...).
