I bought an external hard drive case today, and it seemed to be doing its job. I put my old hard drive in, that i had used on a kind of old pc.

But, when i plug it into the computer/turn it on, nothing pops up. It shows up in the system profiler as USB TO IDE so i figure its working just fine. but i must be doing something wrong, cause its not showing up in disk utility, and yeah. Its really frustrating. does anyone know what to do?

using a mac mini OSX 10.4.11 1GB ram

no, it doesnt recognize it. i can find no evidence of the computer recognizing except for under the USB things in system profiler. i'll try doing what you said though

Oh! i fixed it. that was easy, turned out it was just a faulty connection. thank you so much for the help though!
