air 128GB and need to expand itunes storage.

I only need the library at home where I have time capsule router.

can I buy a USB hard drive, plug it into the time capsule and use it as network storage for my itunes library? any pitfalls?

any other better solutions?

Speed will be the issue.

I used to keep my library on a network drive and it was slow to sync, slow to use unless connected via RJ45.

I imagine USB will be even worse.

I use a USB drive but only store large media on it. I pull it back into iTunes only when I need it.

most of the use of the media is done via 1st gen apple TV,
so other than slow to sync, any other problems?

if I USB'd a drive to a time capsule,
would it be mounted & ready each time I woke my air in network?
