Need head set/Mic - dictation

Hi guys
Tried dictation for the first time, on old 2012 27" iMac OS 10.15.8 Catalina
Played with the settings as the iMac is a little deaf apparently, had to talk really loud

I'm not a gamer, just need a mic that works really well

What is the best option without going overboard on price?

You want to System Preferences->Sound Panel, Input sub menu and select you external connection and play with the Input level!

Also look for a good condenser mic!
