As long as your SHSH hashes are on file with Cydia, you can load 4.0.1. All you need to do is look through some of the most recent threads and you'll find the procedures.

Where does it "show" 4.0.2? It should show that in the "Log" since that's showing what is currently on your phone.

What is shown if you click "Display SHSHs"?

When I display on TU it shows 4.0.2....I would expect it to show 4.0.1
I saved a couple others from my wifes phone it shows 4.0...I think something is wrong.

If it is not showing up under the "Display My SHSHs" then it's not saved to your computer. Try saving it again. Make sure you check "Advanced" have the right one selected. As Cinemagic stated, as long as your SHSH files are on Cydia's server you should be OK.

There is no way to save it because my phone is stuck at the apple sign
...I guess i could restore it but I don't want to lose my jailbreak...i have not officially went to 4.0.2 the phone got stuck on 4.0.1

When did you save your SHSH? What firmware you have on your phone is entirely irrelevant to what SHSH you get when you click "Make My Life Easier" or use TinyUmbrella to get your ECID "on-file." Instead, the determining factor is what what version of the firmware Apple is currently signing on the date you get "on-file." This is because the only source of valid SHSHs is Apple's server; they are not stored anywhere on your phone, nor is it possible to generate them without knowing Apple's private signing key. Once Apple stops signing a firmware version, it is no longer possible to save your SHSH for that version either in Cydia or using TinyUmbrella.

The following are the cut-off dates, followed by the version(s) you will have on-file if you get on-file before each date:

Before 9 Sep 2009: 3.0, 3.1, 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2
Before 8 Oct 2009: 3.1, 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2
Before 2 Feb 2010: 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2
Before 21 Jun 2010: 3.1.3, 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2
Before 15 Jul 2010: 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2
Before 19 Aug 2010: 4.0.1, 4.0.2
19 Aug 2010 and after: 4.0.2

Note: It can sometimes take several days after you click "Make My Life Easier" to work your way to the head of the queue, so it is possible that those who clicked "Make My Life Easier" in the days immediately before a cutoff will still not have that version on-file.

I did make my life easier on 8/31 and tiny umbrella as well...but I think I did tiny umbrella wrong...now what do i do?

I hate apple this is the dumbest shLt ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just copy your ECID from your 4.0.2 on 'Display SHSHs'. Then try to request one fore 4.0.1. Your phone doesn't have to be hook up or working to request a copy from cycia on tiny.

Don't get it...i know i selected make my life easier and when i go to tiny it says 4.0.1 is saved

You said you "made your life easier" on August 31. There's no way you could have saved 4.0.1, only 4.0.2, as Apple was no longer signing 4.0.1 by then. You'll need to wait for the next jailbreak. With 4.1 being released, hopefully it won't be too long a wait.

If it saved 4.0.2 then you did it right, the only problem is you missed the window to save 4.0.1
The firmware version on your device has zero bearing on the firmware version being signed by Apple, you can only get the one being signed by Apple.

Lol :D
Where you been dude?

Man - Ive had lots of work lately so I've been avoiding the forums. Furthermore it just seems like more of the same and I'm waiting for the "OMGZ MY IPHONE BLEW UP!?!!!!11!!" posts to subside a bit before I join lots of conversations again. Been travelling quite a bit as well... heading to Lhasa in two days and then 4 days later off to photograph the 3rd largest gathering of Muslims in the world... then 5 days after that I'm off to Texas for about 3 weeks.

On top of all that, my computer's orig. HD decided it was time to die and in the last two months my backup programs have copied over the disc corruption and node errors to my backups... therefore I was computer-less for about 7 days (back up and running w/ all files now)

Life should be normal again in abouuuutt... a month.
