Since the imac were released i have been concidering buying an iMac dual core, however now that the new macbooks have been released i dont know which one to get

can one of you that has a MBP core i7, 4gb RAM, basically the highest 15 inch MBP (no SSD plz) do these tests

Can you do these tests for me:
1) boot up / down
2) launch MS word (cold)
3) launch photoshop (cold)
4) launch safari (cold)

I just setup a new MPB for a client yesterday:
1) Boot up is about 40 seconds. Shutdown is about 5 seconds.
2) Word launches in 10 seconds.
3) Photoshop in 30 seconds.
4) Safari is 1 second.

On my MBP C2D, with Intel 80GB G2 SSD:
1) Boot up is 15 seconds. Shutdown is 2 seconds.
2) Word in 5 seconds
3) Photoshop in 7 seconds
4) Safari is 1 second

Even with a mid-2009 MBP, with an SSD, it feels faster than the new MPB's.

Yeah, but you're comparing the old with an SSD vs a new with non-SSD.

It'd be nice to put that SSD into the new mbp and see how it's score changes.

10 & 40? My C2D does it faster then that.. I don't think thats right

If that is correct info then im going to cancel my order for a MBP i7 and get an iMac

EDIT

Ive just seen a video on YouTube which shows the 2009 macbook 2.26 launching photshop in 14 seconds - im not saying you info is wrong however when i recieve my MBP i will post some results or a youtube video
