Today I replaced my USB harddrive hanging from my AirPort Extreme Base with a bigger drive. I attached both to my iMac, copied all the files over and gave the new drive the same name as the old. After that I ejected both drives and attached the new one to the APEB. Did a discovery and the drive appeared in the Finder and showed up on the desktop. So far so good. But after a reboot, the drive is gone! No automount. I'm running Tiger 10.4.10 with the latest AirPort upgrade. Is there a solution to this?

I solved it myself. I disconnected the drive, disabled filesharing in the AirPort and rebooted the router. Rebooted the iMac and attached the drive to the router again. I enabled filesharing again and the router rebooted once more. Connected the drive in the AirPort disc utility and now the drive stays connected. I believe it had something to do with different mointpoints on discs with the same same. Anyhoo, it works again.
