So I have a ultra wide 49" 4k and 2x30" Dell 2K monitors at 60hz. I was thinking I could do away without a dock but alas, I still have a mic and a camera to hook up via usb A. Since all 3 monitors will be taking up 3 USB C ports, I was wondering if I can get some kind of adapter that won't be crapping out if it has 1 2K 30" Dell connected to it and will serve as a hub for USB A devices ?

Couldn’t you use HDMI for one of the Dells? HDMI 2.0, but that can do 2K @ 60hz. Then get USB C hub for all the accessories. Or USB C adapter that has video out DisplayPort or HDMI.

So Ive tried using HDMI on 2K Dell and it looks worse than through DP, fonts look like antialias is off etc. So HDMI is no go... Any adapter solution that can take in DP and USB A to USB C/TB anyone can recommend that's not **** ?

Interesting, I'm running HDMI on 2K and looks fine on Lenovo display. I did notice color was a little warmer, but I adjusted that. You're positive it's a 2.0 or better cable?

I'm not familiar enough with Dell monitors. Don't they have USB-A ports and act as hubs?

I ordered a new cable hopefully it will fix it, if not then Ill need to go via a dock route unfortunately.

yeh they do but to make them work you connect a USB A cable from your monitor to your computer, just running DisplayPort to USB C won't do the trick I think
