I am visiting the inlaws this week and they own an iMac mini. I have a total of 6 hours keyboard time in front of an iMac. I'm a complete noob.

My in-law's iMac is connected to the internet through a USB Verizon Wireless network device.

I have enabled the Airport on the iMac. With the airport network highlighted these are the settings:
Airport Status: On
Network Name: Blah Network
Ask to join new Networks: Checked

Clicking Advanced:
Airport Tab: Blah Network listed
Remember any network this computer has joined: Checked
Disconnect on logging out: unchecked
Require Admin password: unchecked

TCP/IP:
Configure IPv4: Using DHCP
IPv4 Address & subnet mask: both populated
Configure IPv6: Automatically

DNS: Empty
Wins: Empty
Appletalk: Make Appletalk Active: Checked
802.1X: Empty
Proxies: Configure Proxies: Using a PAC file
URL: Blank
Ethernet: Set to Automatically

Under the Sharing icon
Internet Sharing: Checked
Internet Sharing: On (Sharing your verizon wireless - VZAccess)

That's all I got for the iMac.

Now when my laptop looks for available networks it sees two networks, both with the names Blah Network. The duplication maybe due to me setting things up different ways on the iMac and it's doing whatever it's doing....

First Blah Network has an icon of a broadcast antenna. The second network has an icon of a laptop connecting to another laptop.

When I attempt to connect to the 2nd network, it states that it is connected but I'm unable to access the internet.

When I attempt to connect to the 1st network it gives me the following message:
"Windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may no longer be in range. Please refresh the list of available networks, and try to connect again."

I believe the issue is within the configuration of the PC laptop. Any assistance? PLEASE? =)
