I'm trying to connect my Macbook Pro to my tube TV. I connected the DVI to Video adapter to an S-video cable and connected the S-video cable to the TV. The television is not recognizing the Macbook Pro - the screen stays black. Help! Do I need to change the settings on the TV or the Macbook Pro?

Thanks for the help - I tried detect displays and got no response. I have also checked off mirror displays as well with no impact. I'll research further but any help could be appreciated. Thanks.

Finally figured out how to change input on TV to S-Video. It worked. Audio cables using audio adapter worked as well. Thanks!

could you explain further on how you did this because i'm having difficulty too. Also, could you tell the cord or wire you used to get this working?
