Any advice or software recommendations is great!

I am trying to convert MPEG4 files to .mov (Quicktime) to be able to import them in FCP. I have those files because i imported them from the sxs cards (from the Sony XDcam). For some reasons, some of the files were not imported to FCP and were not converted to .mov files (which is really weird, if you have an explanation for that, I'll be curious to hear it). But some of tthe files were imported in FCP. I used XDcam Transfer for that.

The files that are in FCP (the one that I was able to import from a sony XDcam sxs card), are:
- 1280x720
- 23.98fps
- audio 48khz, 16b
- data rate 4.3 MB/sec
- compressor column: XDCAM EX 720p24 (35Mb/s VBR)

The XDcam transfer software doesn't work, apparently it needs either the camera or the card to be able to operate (which I don't have anymore)

I tried skysoft 3GP Video converter, iSkysoft Video Converter, and Video converter but none of them seems to work (apparently their range of resolution is not wide enough, they are not made to work with FCP)

So i tried VisualHub, which seem to be working, except that I can only convert to DV (720x480, which doesn't match the footage I already have) or MPEG. MPEG gives me more option (I can keep the resolution), and I can open the files with Quicktime too (with sound) but when I try to import to FCP, it only imports the images. I did change the sound settings to 48khz and 16b, I tried with all the settings on automatic, i tried pretty much everything, but it won't import the sound.

Do you think it would work better with Quicktime Pro?

Do you thing I should import using the DV setting and down convert my other files in FCP to be able to edit?

Do you think i should import the images converted with VisualHub and the sound separately once I convert it with another program?
