I'm in the market for a new TouchBar MacBook, but I'm not sure if the 13" or the 15" is right for me. I'm tempted by the size and portability of the 13", but it's important that it performs well for my needs for a long time. I've placed an order for the two sizes and configurations that I consider:

My uses are studying (sometimes handling large PDFs), light photo editing in Photos app (although my DSLR takes huge 24 mpx photos), amateur music production in Logic (sometimes with a lot of channels), DJing, streaming PS4 games through Remote Play. And of course web browsing, email etc. I would not consider myself a Mac gamer but if Overwatch is ever released I would definetely want to play that in 60 fps (doesn't look like it's coming though).

The most important things to me is: it runs buttery smooth at all times, battery life, doesn't get too hot, doesn't need to be replaced for at least 4 years.

  • Size aside, how will I benefit from the 15" given my task?
  • How futureproof will the 13" be, again given my tasks.
  • What config will you recommend me?
  • Is it worth upgrading te RAM on the 15" if you won't play games other than Overwatch?(potentially)

Thanks a lot!
