Need help disabling automatic logging in terminal

Trying to disable automatic logging in Terminal, these are the commands I entered. The help offered by yahoo didn't work. Any help in stopping this ym.log from appearing on my desktop?

Copy and paste each of the following commands into the Terminal.
Press <Return> after pasting each command.

defaults delete com.yahoo.messenger3 LogLevel

defaults write com.yahoo.messenger3 EnableRMPLogging -bool NO
