Need Help Extracting Audio from AVI

Hello All,

I would like to extract audio from an AVI file. I tried using the following methods:

1. Quicktime 7, show movie properties, extract audio. - I tried to save it and it doesn't work. A file will generate but nothing will play.

2. I have added XVID and Perian codecs to my Quicktime library. still doesn't work.

3. I used ISKYSOFT and it extracted fine, but i don't want to pay for the software. 35 is tough for me considering i just bought quicktime.

Any suggestions?
